At Sky Clinic we offer two types of non-surgical fat reduction treatments. The most suitable treatment for you will be advised at consultation.

Fat Freezing

Bosy treatments Fat Freexing Fat Reduction

Cryolipolysis, commonly referred to as fat freezing, is a nonsurgical fat reduction procedure that uses cold temperature to reduce fat deposits in certain areas of the body. The procedure is designed to reduce localized fat deposits or bulges that do not respond to diet and exercise. Cryolipolyais is not a weight loss procedure and is not intended for people who are obese or significantly overweight. The benefits of cryolipolysis include:

Back to work - immediately

Procedure time – 45minutes* estimated

Duration of result - permanent

Risks and side effects – redness, bruises, numbness*

Results visible in 8-12 weeks

Number of treatments – may require more than one treatment

The FDA has approved cryolipolysis to treat fat deposits in the chin, upper arms, inner and outer thighs, abdomen, hip/flank (“love handles”), upper back (“brassiere rolls”), lower back, and underneath the buttocks.

A handheld device “cups” is used to freeze the layer of fat cells underneath the skin. First, anti-freeze pads are applied to the area to protect the skin. Then, the fatty bulge is suctioned into the “cup”. You will feel a pulling sensation as suction is applied. These sensations of intense cold, tingling, stinging, aching, cramping – lasts around 5 to 10 minutes as the area becomes numb during the cooling down process. The fat layer is gradually cooled to the target temperature.

It takes around 45 minutes to treat an area, (30 minutes for chin). After the area is treated, the applicator is removed. The area may be massaged for 1 to 2 minutes to assist with the breakdown of the fat cells.

Fat freezing is invented on based on finding that fat cells break down on cold temperatures without damaging surrounding tissue. The break down process triggers an inflammatory response by the body, which results in the death of the fat cells. Macrophages, a type of white blood cells and part of the body’s immune system, is then help to get rid the dead fat cells and debris from the body.

Studies have shown an average fat reduction of around 20% at around 4 months after initial treatment. However, you may begin to notice changes as early as 3 weeks after treatment. Dramatic improvement is noticed after about 2 months.

Cryolipolysis contraindications include:

  • Pregnancy and breast feeding
  • Nerve disorders, such as diabetic neuropathy
  • Obesity
  • The areas of skin that are cut or injured, contain severe varicose veins, dermatitis or other skin lesions.
  • Inflammatory skin disorders
  • Skin conditions caused by immune system disorders, such as eczema and psoriasis.
  • Abnormal cold sensitivity or cold intolerance. The procedure is not recommended for people who have the following conditions:
  1. Raynaud’s phenomenon
  2. Cryoglobulinemia
  3. Paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria
  4. Cold urticarial
  5. Cold agglutinin disease

Common side effects include:

  • Stinging or tingling of the skin
  • Redness
  • Swelling
  • Skin discoloration or bruising
  • Skin sensitivity or numbness

Uncommon side effects may include (but aren’t limited to):

  • Skin surface may be irregular after healing.
  • One rare side effect that may occur is paradoxical adipose hyperplasia. In this rare condition, the size of fat cells increases after cryolipolysis.
  • Weight gain is possible after undergoing cryolipolysis. Fat may be deposited in other areas of the body.

Side effects may persist for a few days to a few weeks after treatment. Your doctor may recommend that you take an analgesic medication to relieve pain or other discomfort.

More than one session may be needed to achieve desired results. Repeated sessions can be performed after 4 to 8 weeks from the first session. This is because it can take this long for damaged fat cells to be eliminated from the body.

One area (one cup) - £120

Two areas (two cups) - £150

Three areas (three cups) - £180

Fat Dissolving Mesotherapy

Cosmetic Injections Fat Dissolving Mesotherapy

Fat destroying mesotherapy involve the use of a special blend of lipolytic components (called a lipolytic cocktail) injected or micro-needled into the desired area to destroy unwanted and stubborn fat deposits. The lipolytic cocktail is designed to get rid of stubborn localised fat deposits from the body contour, abdominal folds, upper arms, thighs, buttocks, knees, chin and waist.

The product we use used is called BCN ADIPO FORTE and is a lipolytic cocktail containing a variety of active ingredients designed to destroy fat and to tighten the skin. The cocktail is either injected sub-cutaneously or micro-needled into the desired area.

Back to work - 7-10 days

Procedure time – 30 minutes* estimated

Home care - firm massage of the area

Risks and side effects – redness, bruises, numbness, swelling, skin irritation

Results visible in 2-4 weeks

Number of treatments – may require more than one treatment

It is recommended for people who are of normal weight or slightly over, but who have localised areas of fat. It is also suitable for people wishing to optimise and maintain the results of a fat reduction treatment.

Phosphatidylcholine – dissolves the fat stored in the adipocytes or fat cells, allowing it to eliminate localised adipocytes. Phosphatidylcholine, also known as lecithin, is one of the principle constituents of cell membranes and of the lipoproteins that circulate in the blood. Its function is to dissolve the fat stored in the adipocytes or fat cells, enabling it to be absorbed and carried away. It is therefore the ideal solution for getting rid of localised fat deposits.

Deoxycholic acid – is used in the reduction of localised fat. Deoxycholic acid conjugates with glycine or taurine and is used to reduce localised fat.

L-carnitine – mobilizes fat deposits making them available for metabolism to burn them. L-carnitine is present naturally in the body and its principal function is to transport fat deposits into the mitochondrial matrix so that they can be converted into energy. As it breaks down accumulated fat, it is known as a fat burner.

Organic silica – keeps the epidermis hydrated, firming and strengthening the skin, as well as acting as an antioxidant to actively prevent the acceleration of premature ageing. Organic silica is a structural element of the connective tissue which rehydrates, renews and regenerates the cells by stimulating and regulating the proliferation of fibroblasts, improving the synthesis of collagen and promoting the regeneration of elastic fibres. It also keeps the epidermis hydrated, firming and strengthening the skin.

Fat Cells accumulate around our middle region, the buttocks, thighs, arms and chin. Micro meso – injections of lipolysis injectable containing phosphatidlycholine  (PC) and Deoxycholate Acid (DC) are introduced subcutaneously to the desired treatment area to dissolve the unwanted fat cells. The fat cells absorb the PC DC and become slightly inflamed and harden. The hardened cells break down within a few weeks and are excreted through the body.

3 to 6 sessions than one session may be needed to achieve desired results. Treatment can be repeated with 4 weeks interval. Result of each procedure is seen between 2-4 weeks after the treatment.

Swelling, redness bruising and irritation of the area, usually settles within 7-10 days.
